Updated SATURDAY- The 4 seed Lady Devils took on the 1 seed Beacon yesterday, February 26, at The Westchester County Center. Many expected a good game, but LRD played tremendous defense and shot the lights out. On Peekskill’s first possession, Kiarra Dillard hit a 3 and they never looked back after that. Sophomore Lanay Rodney led the team with 23 points, including a red hot first quarter in which she scored 13 and 5 makes from downtown. Senior, Latisha Clark also played a great game scoring 8 points and corralling 9 rebounds. The team as a whole forced 30 turnovers, 18 of which were steals (5 from Adriane Jackson) leading to many opportunities where they converted. It’s a great win for the team.

Now the Lady Red Devils look forward to a rematch from last year’s sectional championship game, facing Albertus Magnus this Saturday at 7 PM. IF the Lady Red Devils win, then they will officially be the New York State Class A Section 1 Champions and bring home the Gold Ball to Peekskill High School!! Friends,, family, students, faculty, and the Peekskill community are expected to be on hand to root on PEEKSKILL’s very own Lady Red Devils!!!
