College Admission and GPA’s

As Sophomores and Juniors begin the process of exploring colleges, one of the most important factors to check out is the GPA required for admission. Peekskill High School uses percent grades, however, most college publications use a 4-point scale. For the colleges that students visited last week, the Average High School GPA’s listed are: Dominican College- 2.65 Manhattan College-3.37 Iona College 3.40.
The following conversion chart can be helpful in finding out if your GPA matches the admission guidelines of the college you are interested in.

3.00-3.24                                 83-86
3.25-3.49                                  87-89
3.50-3.74                                  90-92

3.90-4.00                                 97-100
