ATTENTION SENIORS:

On Friday December 20th Westchester Community College visited the CRC offering FREE Applications for the Fall 2014 Semester.  Ms. Gordineer stated “the event was a complete success.”  She also commented that “this is something that PHS in collaboration with Westchester Community College offers every year.”

Community College is a great way to start your college career and get your Associates Degree. Check out this blurb from their website:

http://www.sunywcc.edu/

“Each student has a special reason for attending the college. You may want to save money here on your way to a bachelor’s degree elsewhere. Or you  may seek an education which will lead directly to a career. Whatever your goal, Westchester Community College can help you achieve success.

With more than sixty associate degree and certificate programs, we offer a wide range of academic opportunities. These programs, combined with a full range of counseling and advisement, academic support, and career and transfer services, will provide you with the solid foundation that you will need to reach your individual goals.”

Be sure to visit to explore your post-graduation options!

REMINDER: Ms. Kahn (the guidance office secretary) requests a list of all schools you are planning on applying to whose deadlines are in January. (She is in charge of sending out recommendation letters and official transcripts.) Get that list in to her office ASAP (defiantly before winter break!!) and go visit her if you have an questions.

IF you missed the Senior College Night, be sure to look over the power point presentation here: http://www.peekskillcsd.org/Page/2375 for useful information on the college application process.

Ms. Gordineer is the College Resource Center and scholarship expert.  She is a valuable part of our school and is ready and willing to help every student at PHS obtain scholarships and grants as well as any information that they need in order to gain acceptance into college.  Ms. Gordineer has a website on the teachers page which is full of information about scholarships and college visits here at the High School and suggests students start thinking about college beginning in their freshman year.
