My interview with Zork:
DB – What inspired you to write?
Zork – Women, I’m the shyist guy person around, and poetry made me come out my shell. It was the way to express my feelings for the girl I liked.
DB – How often do you write poems?
Zork – I cannot write on a voluntary basis. When I get an idea, that’s how I start to write.
DB – Is poetry a part time or full time job for you? If it’s part time then what do you do in your spare time?
Zork – It’s part time, I work with computers. I love working with computers.
DB – Do you have any advice for people pursuing a poetry career?
Zork – always have a pen and paper with you so when you get an inspiratin you can write it down. And remember, everyone can be a poet. Also everyone is different in their own way.
DB – How old were you when you began to write?
Zork – 32. I hated poetryall my life. I didn’t understand it. It was boring. My only true experience with poetry was high school. But at age 32 the girl and emails I sent to her came into my life, and when I went to an open mic, I actually read my emails.
DB – What do you mean when you say you are not a poet?
Zork – I believe everyone is a poet and everyone has something to say. I also love irony. I’m a performance poet and love having the shirt that says, ”I am not a poet”. It really gets people confused.
