Holidays are like Christmas cookies
Delicious sugar, flour, and butter
One taste and you’re hooked
And always want another
But sometimes a cookie
Disintegrates into crumbs
The ingredients are there
But they’re hit with the force of drumsticks slamming a drum
It’s not that bad when a cookie falls apart
Though its crumbs often get discarded
But when it happens to a family
It makes holidays broken hearted
The message I’m writing about
For when holidays roll around
Is stick close to those who will always be there for you
And even if you’re eating crumbs, the warmth and sweetness of holidays will abound
