You may have heard of ADHD before.  It stands for Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, and I was diagnosed with it when I was eight years old.

I’ve heard from many people that I have “the attention span of a squirrel.”  When I hear that, I want to scream, “it’s not my fault!” It’s something that I have to deal with every day.  For instance, when I wake up in the morning, I sometimes look at my carpet and feel myself lost in space.

I can easily go off topic, and I don’t realize it until I listen to what I’m saying. Then I ask, “how did we go from talking about Fortnite skins to conspiracy theories?”

It may be frustrating, but sometimes I forget I have it. At times, I even come to terms with it, realizing,  “oh, I guess I’m stuck with this for the rest of my life.” It’s all cool.

Can you relate to anything I wrote about?  Do you have any symptoms of ADHD? Share your own experiences and stories in the comments below.  I’d like to hear more about how this disorder does or doesn’t affect you.
