Every week for 5 weeks on Mondays, every
9th grade English class meets with the Hudson Valley Shakespeare Festival. Three to four teacher-actors, Ryan, Charlie, James, and Carl all lead the classes into acting sessions that get everybody up on their feet and energized! Each week is started out with several warm-ups and are later led into an acting exercise, helping the classes further break out of their shells and experience what it's like to be an actor in a Shakespearean play. Many things are always going on in these classes. Things such as: using different voices when speaking, trying out different actions while saying something, and figuring out different ways to get points across and
approach certain situations. At the end of the 5 weeks, these actors, along with other actors from the Hudson Valley Shakespeare Festival are going to put on a special production only for PHS. They will be performing the classic Shakespearean Tragedy, “Othello.” We look forward to the performance!Photo taken from http://hudsonvalley.ettractions.com/storage/attraction/thumb/hudson-valley-shakespeare-festival-new-york-1.png
