Last year, The Peekskill Red Devils had a good season, ending in 12-6, but this year they are on one mission. That mission is to prove everyone wrong. Since Daquan and Kenny left, a lot of people doubt that the boys are going all the way to Glenn falls, But as I sat at their practice the other day I realized that their team was full of potential but the media, the school, and the fans, chose Kenny and Daquan as their favorites. There are 5 people on the court during a game and they were only two. Not to knock their hustle last year, but they knew as much as I do, they had to play as a team to get where they always were- At the top. The Red Devils are currently at 2-0 and they believe it’s the beginning of going all the way. I got a chance to talk to 4 of the players, Nayge Wagner, Gydal Sorrell, Jamel Culthbertson, and Kyree Hull and I all asked them the same question” What do you think about the season up ahead ?” And this is what they said.
“I think that our team is going to be a surprise team because every one has forgotten about us or simply doesn’t care because they don’t think we are good enough to win or be contenders in playoff runs since Daquan and Kenny left. They don’t think we have anyone to dominate the game as they did sometimes, but I don’t think it’s about that. We got great leaders in me and Shaine and I think the team is more unselfish than last year’s team and I think defensively we are going to be good. We got great speed and athletic ability. I don’t think it’s about having a dominate player, it’s about having players that know their roles and know how to play the game. But as I said we’re going to be that surprise team”-Nayge Wagner
“I think we got hard work in store.13 brothers on one mission to make it to Glenn Falls. Players who are willing to play their role to get to the prime goal”- Jamel Culthbertson
“I think we are going to go far.Hardwork beats talent, if talent doesn’t work hard. If we all play as a team and act as one, we are going all the way”- Gydal Sorrell
“Well, games aren’t going to come easy like last year, even though they weren’t as easy as it seemed, but we are going to have to hang tuff and give it our all”- Kyree Hull
