On Saturday March 1 we had a great time at the Harlem Teen Choir show at the Paramount Theater here in Peekskill. The Choir performs a lot of songs old and new and many of them were gospel songs that I knew. My favorite was “His Eye is On the Sparrow.” I went with my friends and family and we all thought it was a fantastic show. The members are from 13 to 19 with the leaders being adults. They had very powerful voices. A lady named Vi Higginson is the founder and her daughter Gabrielle leads the choir now. Most teens were from Brooklyn and Harlem but some from other places like Mt. Vernon. If you ever get the chance to see them perform I highly recommend that you go.
