All of us at PHS Mercury would like to express our heartfelt sympathy to Mr. Elton Brand and his family on the passing of Ms. Daily Brand. Her generosity to and support of Peekskill High School students were legendary, and she made a tremendous difference in the lives of many, many students. Through the Elton Brand Academy at PHS, many students found academic assistance that helped them get closer to graduation. Each year, Ms. Brand attended the PHS Senior Awards night and distributed generous scholarship checks to grateful recipients. She is shown here in 2012 with then senior John Maxwell.
