The Latino Club took part in Operation Christmas Child. They filled 15 plastic shoe boxes with Christmas items to be delivered to over 100 impoverished nations in Africa, South America and Asia, where children would not have a Christmas present. Items they placed in the boxes are pens, pencils, pencil sharpeners, markers, crayons, coloring books, small cars, dolls, balls, toothbrush, toothpaste, socks, wash cloths, hairclips, and candy. The boxes were taken to a collection center at Grace United Methodist Church in Putnam Valley, who will then send them to Samaritan’s Purse/Operation Christmas Child in North Carolina, where they are then shipped around the world. Next year The Latino Club hopes to make even more boxes to contribute to this wonderful cause.
