I had the privilege of sitting down and talking with the new drama teacher, Mr. Sandler. Mr. Sandler is the drama teacher and the director of the school’s fall production of The Breakfast Club. Mr. Sandler spoke of how he was inspired to be a teacher by his college professors, including his English professor, Mr. Difabio. Mr. Sandler has been a part of many drama productions throughout the years since his first play back when he was in the 8th grade. This was where he was “bitten by the bug.” When asked why he made the move to Peekskill, He responded, “he wanted to continue to bring theatrical excellence to the Peekskill schools.” Not only does Mr. Sandler teach drama classes at the high school, he also teaches drama at Peekskill Middle School and one of the elementary schools. In addition to being the school’s drama teacher, he is also the director of the school’s fall production of The Breakfast Club. If you would like to see this fantastic student production, please reserve tickets in advance by calling  (914) 737-0201 or emailing [email protected].
