Today I met with two students that participated in The Challenge on MSG Varsity that aired originally on December 5th. These two students were Diana Barreto, a sophomore, and Andrew Wise, a junior. This specific challenge was

between Peekskill and John Jay. When asked, both Diana and Andrew felt that the competition was a fair race and the experience was just as they expected it to be. AS said by Diana, “I was surprised that while I was at the compeition it did not feel like a televison show. It felt as if our club was practicing agaianst different people.” Both competitors also felt that the preparation given by Mr. Erickson after school greatly helped them with their performance in the competition. Peekskill High School did an outstanding job at the challenge and all members of the Academic Competition Club put in their part. Both Diana Barreto and Andrew Wise feel that they would absolutely partcipate in another competition. The Challenge will be airing again so don’t forget to check your local listings!
