My Future

My future is moving on from PHS

To a retirement that’s beyond all of this

But I take with me what I learned from both students & staff

Specifically that my future is the multiplication of my accumulated past

Each idea that I’ve heard from students’ poems

Is instilled in my mind and will be with me wherever I roam

Each student story and essay that I’ve read

Is retained in deep recesses within my head

Each person I’ve spoken to at length

Is added knowledge that builds into my personal strength

And each smile I encountered while here

Glows warm within me a to help me through any future fear

I’m moving on, but parts from you are coming within me as well

And that insures my future has PHS support wherever I go and wherever I dwell 

Thank you to all I met these past 27 wonderful years

I hold you close in my heart with warm smiles and joyful appreciative tears
