My Backyard Dreamland

When I look back, my backyard was my dreamland

From a beautiful palace where I was the princess

And the pretty dresses I wore

Or how my Barbie became real and we had ourselves a little tea party in the middle of the ocean

Or I was super girl and I saved the world

Yup, that was me

I could fly so high that I had a dance party with Jesus

Or I could go around the world in day and a half

Or I was a little mermaid and Ariel was my best friend

And her father was my tutor

Or sometimes I got too lazy to swim to school, I got to drive my underwater Barbie car

Yup, all that happened in my backyard

But now when I sit in my backyard

I see my nephew, nieces, cousin and little brother play and I look at them like they are foolish

Because I am too embarrassed to admit I miss my dreamland

And I could really use my dreamland right now

But then I always wonder where my imagination world went

What happened to it?

I guess I’ll really never know

I really need it because this reality can get so boring and tiring

But my dreamland

Is a place of wonderful dreams and my creation

And never boring
