The City of Peekskill celebrates Black History Month each year by honoring local African American members of the community for their contributions and this year, Peekskill High School’s Senior Office Assistant, Ms. Joanne Clark was chosen to be recognized. The  City gave her a Proclamation and dedicated the month of February as “Joanne Clark Month” in Peekskill.

We all know and love Ms. Clark, who has been working for the high school for over 13 years. She was nominated for this honor by Peekskill High School Principal Dr. Cassandra Hyacinthe. Dr. Hyacinthye said she nominated Ms. Clark because Ms. Clark works long hours and cares a lot about the students and staff at Peekskill High School.
