PHS Open House
Peekskil High School opened its doors to parents, family, friends and students yesterday, September 11, 2014 for Open House Night.
Parents had the opportunity to meet the new PHS Principal – Dr. Cassandra Hyacinthe, Assistant Principals – Mrs. Griselda Reyes and Mr. Kent Picou, New Director of Teaching and Learning—Mr. Daniel Callahan, and the New Guidance Team–Mr. Noel Cabassa, Mrs. Selma Stewart-Dias (Freshman Academy), Ms. Ashley Martinez, and Mrs. Michele Wells.
The evening began at 6pm with a Principal’s Desserts only Potluck! Dr. Hyacinthe introduced herself to the packed crowd in the cafeteria followed by Parents Club Leaders —Robin Hayward, Liz Lazo. Our PHS Parent Club is always looking for new parents and/or guardians to become members. If you are interested in joining or volunteering, please call PHS at 737-0201.
After presentations were conducted and a moment of silence taken in honor of 9/11, parents were welcomed by the Peekskill Faculty & Staff throughout the High School. Parents followed their students schedules and teachers presented information about the course curriculum/syllabus, grading policy, attendance, behavior and academic expectations, Call-Back, and Parent Portal.
It was a great evening attended by all!
